The environment has always been as passion of mine from a young age – from walking through the Shropshire Hills with my dogs, to having a passion for Geography in school. My love for the environment only ever expanded as I got older and when I decided to study BSc Geography at the University of Leeds. I mean, why wouldn’t it? I was adventuring across glaciers in the Austrian Alps, jet setting to New Zealand, to carry out research in the Southern Alps (whilst getting a great tan) and I had the Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep of my student digs. Therefore, when I graduated, a job in something I was passionate about was the next logical step and I was determined to not have to live in a city whilst doing so. And look where I am now, in an office on a farm, working for an environment consultancy. Think this ticks all the boxes.
My first few weeks at E4environment
Having just completed my third week at E4, it’s safe to say I feel like I’ve been here much longer. I have had the warmest of welcomes every morning from the staff… the dogs, the cat and the cows! It’s great.
I have been getting stuck in and working on projects since day one, learning more and more each day. Over the next few months I hope to be working on more studies for Renewable Energy sites and getting my teeth into some new marketing campaigns, for some exciting opportunities we have been discussing regarding our woodland’s projects. I am looking forward to attending my first training course next month, with CIWM for Permitting and Exemptions, which will be fantastic opportunity, for increasing my responsibilities amongst the team.
Thanks E4 and I look forward to an exciting future here with you all!
